A few years ago, my mother had cancer. To attenuate some side effects of her chemotherapy, she had to have several blood transfusions. Since then, I have felt very involved, and I began to give blood. I invited my brother and sister to come too. That was more than ten years ago.
Now, I give plasma, after being approached by the EFS. It seems important to meet the requirements of the EFS and so of patients. Thanks to my personal experience, I am well informed of the diseases that need blood products. Where possible, I make the people around me aware of giving blood as a cause and I encourage them to come and give blood. I try to make them aware of the “gift” they can give to many sick people.
